Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. joined for the second year the International Coastal Cleanup on Sept. 19, 2009.
In Davao City, over a hundred Phoenix employees participated along with barangay officials and representatives of schools that Phoenix supports, Dona Asuncion Elementary School and Vicente Hizon Elementary School. A total of 215 volunteers cleaned up the coast of Coaco Beach, filling 138 garbage bags
Phoenix employees continued the cleanup at the depot area and in their personal work stations.
In Luzon, Phoenix staff held the Cleanup at Phoenix Petroterminals and Industrial Park in Calaca, Batangas. They were joined by locators from the park and staff from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Office of the Mayor, Office of the Administrator, and Phoenix Petroleum sister company Chelsea Shipping.
Aside from cleanups, the Phoenix Industrial Park in Batangas also maintains the Pawikan Conservation Project in the depot.
